I Didn’t Know Where to Look
For the longest time, I didn’t know where to look for Him.
Jesus invited His disciples, and by extension all of us, to come to Him and follow Him. I have accepted His invitation. I want with all my heart to come to Him and follow Him.
It’s not as easy as it sounds, however. For the longest time, I didn’t know where to look for Jesus. My view of Him was obscured by a myriad of distractions, albeit very good and worthy distractions. When I was baptized at age fifteen, the Savior was not at the center of my conversion.
The words of the old Bible didn’t catch my imagination like the more understandable language of the modern books. Yet even in the present-day words of prophets, I didn’t see Jesus. I knew the stories of Christmas and Easter, but Jesus was only a backdrop. The Savior, for all intents and purposes, was missing from my life.
Come, walk with the Master.
