I began to see Jesus everywhere in the gospel and the Church. I recognized Him in my baptism and in the weekly sacrament. I heard His name more and more. His grace and mercy showed up in Sunday school lessons and in books I read. Once the blinders came off, Jesus was everywhere.
Not leaving the modern-day scriptures behind, I picked up the New Testament with new enthusiasm and a thirst to know Jesus. I loved His sermons and parables. But I was particularly fascinated with His acts.
I began to see everything He did, as recorded in the Gospels, as purposeful but unspoken parables. Christ calculated each act, each miracle, each incident to teach us something about Himself and how to follow Him. His actions presented me with as much depth as His words.
